Ciao Alberto ci racconti qualcosa del tuo uomo d'arme e della tua delegazione?
"Il mio personaggio non ha un riscontro in una figura storica realmente esistita ma si inserisce in un contesto ben preciso, quello delle rivolte dei bergamaschi della Val Brembilla, culminate con le violenze del 1443. Secondo un percorso differente da quello intrapreso dal personaggio di Giorgio, esule al servizio di Bartolomeo Colleoni, il mio uomo d'arme segue le orme di alcuni fuoriusciti bergamaschi che si spostano in territorio della Serenissima ed intraprende la carriera militare. A seguirmi in questa edizione di Torneoinarmatura avrò una delegazione composta da reenactors di provenienza tedesca, una sorta di legame tra la cultura veneziana che ha strizzato l'occhio, verso la fine del secolo, alla moda ed al gusto germanico a cui la mia delegazione renderà straordinariamente merito. A presentarci sarà invece un araldo veneto DOC, perché in fin dei conti un po' di genuinità nostrana non guasta mai!"
Hi Alberto, what can you tell us about your man-at-arms and your delegation?
"My character isn’t based on an actual historical figure but is part of a very specific historical context- the riots by the people of Bergamo in Val Brembilla, which culminated in the violence of 1443. Following a different path from that of the character of Giorgio, an exile in service of Bartolomeo Colleoni, my man-at-arms follows in the footsteps of some exiles from Bergamo who moved to the Serenissima territory and embarks on a military career. At this edition of Torneoinarmatura, I’ll be accompanied by a delegation of German re-enactors, creating a sort of tie to Venetian culture that looked to Germanic fashion and taste at the end of the century, to which my delegation will give extraordinary merit. A truly Venetian herald will present us because, after all, a bit of homegrown authenticity never hurts! "
Hai già partecipato al TORNEOINARMATURA, cosa ti spinge a partecipare a questa nuova edizione?
"E' difficile immaginarmi al di fuori del circus di Torneoinarmatura, l'ho visto nascere quando era solo un'idea vagamente folle e ne ho seguito l'entusiasmo fin dalla prima ora. E' parte fondamentale del mio percorso da ricostruttore storico e non intendo rinunciarvi! Inoltre il legame personale e di associazione che intercorre con Famaleonis per me è motivo di vanto ed essere parte di Torneoinarmatura è un ottimo modo per celebrarlo."
You’ve participated in TORNEOINARMATURA before, what encouraged you to participate in this new edition?
"It’s practically impossible to imagine myself not participating in the Torneoinarmatura circus. I’ve watched it grow from a vaguely crazy idea and I’ve enthusiastically followed it from its beginning. It has become a fundamental part of my historical reconstruction journey and I have no intention of quitting! Furthermore, the personal bond and association with Famaleonis is a point of pride for me, and being part of a Torneoinarmatura is a great way to celebrate it. "
Cosa ne pensi della formula dell'evento senza pubblico dedicato solo ai reenactor?
"Ho sempre sostenuto questa formula. Permette di "depurare" l'evento dall'obbligo divulgativo e consente a noi partecipanti un'immersività più completa nell'atmosfera e nei personaggi che decidiamo di presentare. Nel corso delle stagioni ricostruttive abbiamo moltissime occasioni di dedicarci al pubblico, è giusto ogni tanto prenderci degli spazi per noi stessi."
What do you think of the event’s formula dedicated solely to re-enactors without an audience?
"I’ve always supported this formula. It provides a way to “cleanse” the event of an educational obligation and allows us participants to be completely immersed in the atmosphere and the characters we present. Throughout the historical reconstruction season we have plenty of occasions to dedicate time to an audience, so it seems fair that every once in a while we have space just for ourselves."
Conosci già alcuni degli altri uomini d'arme? chi temi di più? vuoi fare un pronostico sul vincitore?
"Ho incontrato ogni partecipante tranne il rappresentante Spagnolo che conosco solo di fama. Non "temo" nessuno e li ammiro sinceramente tutti, ho la mia rivalità ormai assodata con Albertino dei Merendi ma è ovviamente più folcloristica e reale, ormai. Un pronostico è difficile, sono presenti due vincitori delle edizioni passate, altri sono incredibilmente tecnici e preparati; consiglierei solo di non puntare sul sottoscritto!"
Do you already know some of the other men-at-arms? Who do you fear most? Would you like to make any predictions about a winner?
"I’ve met every participant except the Spanish representative who I only know through his reputation. I’m not “afraid” of anyone and I honestly admire all of them. By now, I have an established rivalry with Albertino dei Merendi but obviously it’s more folkloristic than real. It’s not easy to make a prediction. Two winners of previous editions will be in attendance, and the others are incredibly technical and well-prepared. My only suggestion would be not to bet on yours truly! "
